Social Contribution Activities Policy

With respect to social engagement, in addition to our business operations in countries and regions around the world, Mitsui & Co contribute to the sustainable growth of society and our company in accordance with our Sustainability Policy and this Policy. We will engage in dialogue with a broad range of stakeholders and aim to conduct social contribution activities with a view for resolving societal issues and building relationships of trust.

Priority Areas for Social Contribution Activities
With respect to our social contribution activities, we have set out the priority areas of "community contribution", "environmental conservation" and "human resources development.

    We provide a variety of learning opportunities to develop talent leading to new value creation.
Employee and Officers Participation
We value and encourage each employee and officer's volunteer work contributing to community and society.
Disaster Relief Activities
When disasters occur in Japan or overseas, we engage in initiatives to minimize the damage and contribute to the recovery of the affected areas in line with their needs, such as donations from the company and voluntary donations from our employees.

Social Contribution Activities (Fiscal Year Ended March 2022)

The total social contribution expenses for the fiscal year ended March 2022 were 1.22* billion yen.(Charitable donations 9%, Community investments 43%, Commercial initiatives 48%)

* Figures include cash donations and monetary conversion equivalent of in-kind payments.
* However, activities such as personal donations by employees and/or volunteer activities as well as Political Contribution expenses have not been included.
