Mitsui & Co., Ltd. ("Mitsui," Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President & CEO: Kenichi Hori) has decided to introduce SAP(R) SuccessFactors(R), a cloud talent management software from SAP Japan Co., Ltd. ("SAP," Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hirofumi Suzuki), in order to promote an optimal HR strategy for the global group using data. Also, in order to renew the system for core HR operations such as the domestic HR policy management and payroll operations, the company will implement "POSITIVE" of Information Services International-Dentsu, Ltd. ("ISID," Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Ryoichi Nawa).

As the global business environment becomes more diverse, sophisticated, and complex, in order to continue to recruit attractive talent, it is necessary to develop, appoint, and assign a wide variety of human resources, regardless of region or business, utilizing the individual abilities and experience. In order to flexibly adapt to changes in the business environment, Mitsui plans to promote the global standardization of talent data, which has until now been maintained on a regional and business basis. As part of this policy, the company is implementing a cloud talent management system.

SAP's "SAP(R) SuccessFactors(R)" is a cloud-based HR and talent management solution that provides comprehensive talent management functions as well as advanced analytics using HR data. Through this implementation, Mitsui will standardize its HR processes and data across the globe and utilize them in HR strategy and develop the capabilities of its employees. By referencing each employee's experience, abilities, knowledge, and career aspirations ascertained from HR data, we can place the right people in the right positions regardless of age, gender, or place of employment and select candidates for the next stage of business management. Furthermore, visualizing their abilities and experiences required for duties and roles, we support employees to develop their careers autonomously. In addition, the implementation of POSITIVE will enable the company to flexibly adapt to changes in legal systems related to HR in Japan and achieve HR policies with speed and continuity. System implementation will be performed by both ABeam Consulting Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and Chief Executive Officer: Tatsuya Kamoi) and Mitsui Knowledge Industry Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Kengo Asano).
Both systems are scheduled to go into full-scale operation in spring 2024, at a total cost of approximately 7.7 billion yen.
